All Project Based Wait List Closing Thur. March 31, 2022

DHA opened seventeen (17) of the DHA Project Based Voucher (PBV) Wait Lists on Tuesday, March 1, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. CST; and will CLOSE on Thursday, March 31, 2022, at 4:30 p.m. CST or when the number of applications is received for a given wait list.  Applicants are able to apply for the wait list through an online application in their Rent Cafè account.  

You must successfully submit a pre-application online during the open period. The pre-application - which requires your name, date of birth, contact mailing address, email address, household income, number of household members and racial or ethnic designation of the head of household - must be submitted online using a computer, smartphone, tablet or other electronic device with Internet access. Applicants should have a valid e-mail address to apply. If you do not have Internet access, you may submit the pre-application online at locations throughout the County that offer free use of their computers, such as public libraries. Internet access is not available for submitting a pre-application at the DHA office. 

To apply for the PBV housing options available, you must be eligible to live at the property, and you must complete the online application for the specific property that meets your household needs! You must apply to each PBV site you are eligible to apply for by checking that wait list during the application process.

REASONABLE ACCOMMODATION

Pre-applications will NOT be provided or accepted at the DHA Wheaton, IL location unless you have been pre-approved for a Reasonable Accommodation because of a disability or related condition that prevents you from equal access to the online pre-application process. Your accommodation request must be written and must describe the reason why the online pre-application process prevents you from accessing the pre-application. The written request must be submitted to Malinda Smith for review and approval by being:* mailed to Malinda Smith, Program Manager at DHA, 711 E. If the request is approved, Ms. Malinda Smith will respond and coordinate how to get the Pre-Application to you prior to the PBV Wait Lists opening.

PLEASE NOTE: YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO SUBMIT THE COMPLETED PAPER COPY PRE-APPLICATION BEFORE 10:00 A.M. CST ON TUESDAY March 1, 2022 WHEN THE WAIT LIST OFFICIALLY OPENS!

All pre-applications RECEIVED will be date and time stamped. If a paper copy of the pre-application is submitted BEFORE 10:00 A.M. CST it will be considered REJECTED due to the wait list not being open at the time of receipt of the pre-application!

APPLYING FOR THE PBV WAIT LIST 

IMPORTANT: The Wait List Pre-application contains sensitive information about the applicant that is considered confidential. That information will be maintained in a User Account on our secure database. Access to the information in a user account will only be available to the applicant and DHA so you must create a user account before you can submit an online Pre-application to apply for the DHA wait list. Unless permission for a Reasonable Accommodation has been granted, Pre-applications can only be completed and submitted online within your User Account.

If you answer Yes to any of the following questions, you already have a User Account and don't need to create another one:
1. Are you a Participant currently on the Housing Choice Voucher Program in DuPage County under the DuPage Housing Authority?
2. Are you a Participant currently on the Housing Choice Voucher Program in Kendall County under the Kendall Housing Authority?
3. Were you a Participant on the Housing Choice Voucher Program in DuPage County under the DuPage Housing Authority but are no longer on the HCV program or no longer live in DuPage County?
4. Were you a Participant on the Housing Choice Voucher Program in Kendall County under the Kendall Housing Authority but are no longer on the HCV program or no longer live in Kendall County?
5. Were you on any Wait List for the DuPage Housing Authority that opened in 2016, 2019 or 2021, or any Wait List for the Kendall Authority that opened in 2018?
6. Are you a participant or former participant of the Illinois Rental Housing Support Program (RHSP) administered through DuPage Housing Authority or Kendall Housing Authority?

If you answered No to all the questions above, you Do Not have a RENT Cafe User Account and you must create one.

Note: Once you create the user account, you will receive an email confirming your Rent Cafè user account was created. You are now ready to complete the pre-application once the DHA wait List opens for pre-applications on March 1, 2022.


PBV Property Descriptions

DuPage Housing Authority Project-Based Voucher (PBV) Programs Wait Lists Opening - Tuesday, March 1, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. CST  

The following two sections list all available project-based properties offering housing through DuPage Housing Authority.  Each section groups together properties that accept tenants based upon one of the following:

  • SECTION A: Sites offering housing for SENIORS, age 62 and older
  • SECTION B: Sites offering housing in collaboration with Social Service Agency Providers 

SECTION A:
Sites offering housing for SENIORS, age 62 and older

  • Senior Property: Arbor Place of Lisle, Lisle, IL
    Unit Type:  1-Bedroom and 2- Bedroom Units
    Description: Arbor Place of Lisle is a privately owned and managed property that is age-restricted, age 62 and older, senior living community, offering 1-bedroom and 2-bedroom units with affordable rents. 
    • Type of Wait list: Arbor Place 1-Bedroom Unit
      • Maximum Number of Open Positions: 150

    • Type of Wait list: Arbor Place 2-Bedroom Unit
      • Maximum Number of Open Positions: 150

  • Senior Property: Marian Park, Wheaton, IL
    Unit Types: Studio, 1- Bedroom, and 2- Bedroom Unit
    Description: Marian Park offers apartments for persons ages 62 years and older.  One building, with an elevator, is limited to persons 62 and over, and other buildings are 2-story walk-ups.  Applicants must be 62 years of age or older. A Resident Service Coordinator is on staff to provide support while linking residents to the community services available in the area.

      • Maximum Number of Open Positions: 300

  • Senior Property: Mayslake Village, Oak Brook, IL
    Unit Types: 1- Bedroom Units
    Description: Mayslake Village offers affordable housing for Seniors who can care for themselves.  Applicants must be 62 years of age or older. Only one member of a two-person household needs be 62 or older.
    • Type of Wait list: Mayslake 1-Bedroom Unit
      • Maximum Number of Open Positions: 300

  • Senior Property: Naperville Elderly Homes, Naperville, IL
    Unit Type: 1- Bedroom Units
    Description: Naperville Elderly Homes is a privately owned and managed senior living community that offers affordable rents.  Residents are required to be age 62 and older and this applies to both members of a two-person household. 
    • Type of Wait list: Naperville Elderly Homes 1-Bedroom Unit
      • Maximum Number of Open Positions: 100

  • Senior Property: Woodridge Horizons, Woodridge, IL
    Unit Types: One Bedroom Units
    Description: A Senior Citizen complex owned and managed by the Alden Network.  Applicants must by 62 years or older.   
    • Type of Wait list: Woodridge Horizons 1-Bedroom Unit
      • Maximum Number of Open Positions: 100

SECTION B:
Sites offering housing in collaboration with Social Service Agencies

  • Social Services Agency Property: Finley Supportive Housing, Lombard, IL
    Unit Types:  Studio, 1-Bedroom and 2-Bedroom Units
    Description: Finley Supportive Housing, run by Trinity Services, is a privately owned and managed property that offers housing units within a three-story apartment building for people with special needs, i.e. disabilities that impair their ability to live independently without support services.  All tenants must have incomes less than 50 percent of the average median income. 
    • Type of Wait list: Finley Supportive Studio Unit
      • Maximum Number of Open Positions: 150

    • Type of Wait list: Finley Supportive 1-Bedroom Unit
      • Maximum Number of Open Positions: 150

    • Type of Wait list: Finley Supportive 2-Bedroom Unit
      • Maximum Number of Open Positions: 150

  • Social Services Agency Property: Olympus Place, Naperville, IL
    Unit Types: 1-Bedroom and 2-Bedroom Units
    Description: Olympus Place offers subsidized, supportive-housing, provided by DuPage PADS, for individuals, families and veterans who are permanently disabled, have been homeless (per HUD definition) and meet program eligibility.  Residents must meet the following criteria: 1.) A permanent documented disability due to a physical or mental condition or addiction; 2.) Documented as homelessness of one current year or longer or four separate episodes within the past three years; 3.) The ability to live independently in the community without medical supervision; and 4.) Willingness to pay 30% of income towards rent.  Fully furnished bedroom apartments are available. 
    • Type of Wait list: Olympus Place 1-Bedroom Unit
      • Maximum Number of Open Positions: 150

    • Type of Waitlist: Olympus Place 2-Bedroom Unit
      • Maximum Number of Open Positions: 150

  • Social Service Agency Property: Trinity-Landings on Villa, Villa Park, IL
    Unit Types: Studio and 2-Bedroom Units
    Description: The Landings on Villa, run by Trinity Services, offers apartment units intended for people with mental illness or physical disabilities. To qualify, residents must have a household income that is less than 50 percent of the median family income determined by HUD and must undergo a criminal background check through the Illinois Department of Human Services. 
    • Type of Wait list: Trinity landings on Villa Studio Unit
      • Maximum Number of Open Positions: 100

    • Type of Wait list: Trinity landings on Villa 2-Bedroom Unit
      • Maximum Number of Open Positions: 100

  • Social Service Agency Property: Trinity Alton Court, Naperville, IL
    Unit Types: Group Living for 4 single men in one home
    Description: Trinity Alton Court, run by Trinity Services, is a CILA (CommunityIntegrated Living Arrangement) available for 4 single males and serves those with developmental disabilities and/or mental health needs. Each home is staffed by independent living counselors who support the male residents in maintaining the home and participating in community life.  In some homes, staff provide support on an intermittent, as-needed basis.  Residents share household duties to the extent possible and appropriate. 
    • Type of Wait list: Trinity_AC Alton Court
      • Maximum Number of Open Positions: 25

  • Social Service Agency Property: Trinity Turtle Cove, Naperville, IL
    Unit Types: Group Living for 4 single women in one home
    Description: Trinity Turtle Cove, run by Trinity Services, is a CILA (Community Integrated Living Arrangement) available for 4 single females and serves those with developmental disabilities and/or mental health needs. The home is staffed by independent living counselors who support the female residents in maintaining the home and participating in community life.  In some homes, staff provide support on an intermittent, as-needed basis.  Residents share household duties to the extent possible and appropriate.
