DUPAGE HOUSING AUTHORITY
RESOLUTION NO. 2020-08
SUPPORT FOR HOUSING AUTHORITY OF CHAMPAIGN COUNTY/ MTW MAIN STREET LOFTS, WEST CHICAGO
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE DUPAGE HOUSING AUTHORITY (DHA), as follows:
- Section 1:
It is in the best interests of the DuPage Housing Authority to take the following action:
The DuPage Housing Authority is interested in the development of safe, decent and affordable housing in the County. The Housing Authority has been informed that Main Street Lofts, sponsored by the Association for Individual Development is proposing to develop 24 residential housing units for individuals with special needs in West Chicago, IL and is seeking to secure Project-Based Vouchers from the Housing Authority of Champaign County (HACC).
For this reason, the Board of Commissioners of DHA hereby supports the efforts of the proposed development of the Main Street Lofts Project in West Chicago as the Illinois Housing Development Authority takes concrete steps to secure funding, zoning, and other forms of approval required for this project to become a reality.
- Section 2:
This agreement is limited solely to the M1W Project Based Vouchers for Main Street lofts. Any other voucher within the jurisdiction of DuPage Housing Authority would continue to be processed pursuant to HUD portability requirements. - Section 3:
That a letter of approval be granted to allow HACC to operate within DuPage Housing Authority's jurisdiction solely for this project. - Section 4:
That this Resolution is effective upon its adoption.
