This agency was challenged to support our program participants in their search for a decent, safe, sanitary and affordable place to call home. We meet that challenge every day through the rental housing subsidies we provide that helps to enrich the lives of those families to reach their potential. All this – while working with fantastic community partners that make up the Continuum of Care!

Several priorities were important to me when I was named Executive Director: opening the Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) waiting list; utilizing as close to 100% of our voucher allocation in order to house more families; improving customer service delivery; increasing employee morale; and making visible progress with our Family Self Sufficiency, Family Unification and Homeownership Programs. My expectation is that if you grade us, you will see that our scores will have increased on each point – and reflected in our scoring as a Section Eight Management Assessment Program (SEMAP) High-Performer – which is the highest grade any Public Housing Authority can receive. We know we still have quite a way to go and we are not slowing down! However, I do believe that our progress is visible. As we work to continue providing the best housing services for all and to increase the provision of the same, we want to continue to hear from you.

Some of our progress has been in our work to be more efficient. Things like paperless processing in select workflows and implementation of individual extensions for your direct communication with staff. We also implemented enhancements to our system of record software and a new website designed to allow greater convenience to program participants to interact with us using smart phones and other smart electronic devices. We will continue to expand use of and improve our HCV landlord and Tenant portals – called the Housing Café – to allow each to provide real-time information on program, unit and financial status.

As you can tell, I am very proud of our work, but I would be remiss if I didn’t thank each and every member of our Team, our very engaged Board of Commissioners, and finally…all of you! Let me emphasize that we live by our motto, “Our Door is the Path to Your Self-Empowerment” and we will continue that as we approach each new fiscal year and beyond. Thank you again for allowing us to serve you!

Thank you also for taking the time to visit our website, and if you have comments or suggestions about how we can better serve you, please reach out to us.
