The Housing Choice Voucher Wait List (March 5, 2019) is closed.
IMPORTANT UPDATE FOR 2019 DHA HCV APPLICANTS
For all Applicants accepted to the 2019 DHA HCV Wait List, your position number has been assigned and is now viewable on your My Waiting List Status page.
To view your position number, select the My Waiting List Status button on the Home Page of your online account. Once on the My Waiting Lists page, scroll to the bottom of the page and click the My Waiting List Status link to view your position number.
Please note that DHA is currently selecting only those applicants remaining on the 2016 DHA Housing Choice Voucher Wait List, and this will continue to occur for the foreseeable future. Due to low program turnover and no new vouchers being issued by HUD, DHA anticipates that it will not begin selecting applicants from the 2019 DHA Housing Choice Voucher Wait List until after January 2021.
While on the Wait List, if at any time you need to update your application information, log into your Applicant Café account and select the Apply or Update Application button to open your application. Proceed through the screens to update any information on your application. Please note that you must proceed through all the screens until the end, where you will be asked to save the updates to your application.

When will you be called from the wait list? No time frame can be given at this time, as so many factors affect how quickly we can serve the current applicants on our current wait list. Our timelines are dependent on funding and the number of people who exit the program, that we are currently serving.

Please use the username and password you created at the time of applying to access your account from our Applicant Housing Café Portal. Your number indicates the number of people we must serve before we are able to call your name. No time frame can be given at this time, as so many factors affect how quickly we can serve the applicants on our current wait list. Our timelines are dependent on funding and the number of people who exit the program, that we are currently serving.
How do I update my information?
Please use the username and password you created at the time of applying to access your account information from our Applicant Housing Café Portal. Select the Apply or Update Application button to open your application. Proceed through the screens to update any information on your application. Please note that you must proceed through all the screens until the end, where you will be asked to save the updates to your application. Housing Choice Voucher Wait List Information
After this March 2019 opening, No date has been determined as to when the HCV list will open again. When the DHA opens for applications again, we will post a public notice on our website, local papers and send notices to local agencies and municipalities notifying them of the date.
Project Based Voucher Waiting List Information
The Project Based Wait List is now CLOSED. It was opened in March 2018. No date has been determined as to when the list will open again.
APPLICANTS WHO SELECTED PREFERENCES…
If a preference no longer applies to the applicant, it is their responsibility to remove it from their Café Account as all preferences will be verified upon coming off the wait list. If any applicant is unable to verify a preference they select, or found ineligible for a preference they select, the preference points for any non-qualified preference will be deducted and the pre-application will be returned to the wait list. The list will then be re-ordered to move the applicant to their qualified position based on any remaining preferences, then on date/time of application. To read more about Preferences CLICK HERE
In order for a family to be eligible for the HCV program and receive assistance they must meet the requirements below.
Households must meet income limits established by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development to be eligible for the Housing Choice Voucher Program. Income limits are subject to change without notice.
DHA requests a criminal background check for all household members 18 years of age and older for any criminal records. Applicants may be denied eligibility due to their criminal records.
DHA will deny eligibility to an Applicant owing money to DHA or another housing authority if the debt is not repaid.
Citizenship or Eligible Immigrant Status
Assistance is limited to U.S. citizens and specified categories of non-citizens who have eligible immigration status.
