Is your Wait List Open?
Answer: DuPage Housing Authority is CLOSED for applications at this time. When we do open again for applications we will post a public notice in the local paper, reach out to local agencies and post on our website to ensure the opening is made public. No time frame can be given at this time, as so many factors affect how quickly we can serve the current applicants on our current wait list so that we may open again. Our timelines are dependent on funding and the number of people who exit the program, that we are currently serving.
What is my status on the Wait List? What is my position/number on the Wait List?
Answer: Please use the username and password you created at the time of applying to access your account from our Applicant Housing Café Portal. You can find the link under the Tenant Tab from the DuPage Housing Authority Website. The website has been provided below.
When will I be served from the Wait List?
Answer: Your number indicates the number of people we must serve before we are able to call your name. No time frame can be given at this time, as so many factors affect how quickly we can serve the applicants on our current wait list. Our timelines are dependent on funding and the number of people who exit the program, that we are currently serving.
How can I update my application? How can I add a family member to the applications? etc…
Answer: We have to take your application as is. When you name is called to be interviewed for the program, you can update all information then. The only information that needs to be updated for you to remain on the waiting list is contact information. As an applicant on the DHA waiting list you MUST keep our office up to date on your most current mailing address and/or telephone number. When your name is pulled from the list to receive a voucher we will contact you through mail. This is why it is very important to keep us informed.
Why is my position changing on the Wait List?
Answer: The only way it could have changed if there were people removed to be served and then for one reason or another they needed to be added back to the list. An example would be, an applicant could not prove eligibility, preferences etc. by providing sufficient documentation. That would return them to their original position which was ahead of you. Again, it’s hard to say with certainty; but we can assure you the preferences are locked in the system.
